What Does A Bail Bond Cost At Mobile County Metro Jail?

How Bail Works At Mobile County Metro Jail

Metro Jail staff do not set bail amounts. Bail is set by the court or magistrate process: misdemeanors follow the Mobile County bail schedule automatically, felonies are set by a Circuit Court judge at arraignment, and Aniah's Law charges require a special hearing before a judge. There are three ways out of Metro Jail — a bail bond (most common), cash bail paid in full to the court, or a personal recognizance (PR) bond granted by a judge. Bonds are posted at the MCSO Docket, 450 St. Emanuel Street, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. You do not need to come to the Docket yourself — we handle it.

Aniah's Law At Metro Jail

For charges including murder, robbery 1st, drug trafficking, kidnapping 1st, and burglary 1st, a judge can deny bail entirely under Alabama's Aniah's Law.
